Inspired by friends in Massachusetts who, over 20 years ago, founded a league of their own to get together for a pickup football game. All of us believe that playing football is really fun.

Thanks to the beautiful weather in sunny California, we will play most weeks, mid-September through the Super Bowl, typically in early February (except lightning storms).

OFL rules are designed to establish fair play, as easy to self-referee as possible. It depends on the honesty and sportsmanship of its players to function perfectly. While the rules outline basic play, complex situations may arise where the opinion of the referees or commissioner must be respected and followed. This is a gridiron two-hand touch game with some contact. Our ethos is similar to rugby: Determined athletes playing a fluid and continuous game.
